Fredericksburg Fire Training on Stafford TRS

Yesterday, Fredericksburg Fire units were training on talkgroup 5099 on the Stafford trunked system. A set of training scenarios was run repeatedly. Units were using radio IDs in the 442xxxx range.

Fredericksburg is transitioning from VHF conventional frequencies to Stafford's 700 MHz P25 digital system. This transition may be happening relatively soon, as increased radio testing has been noted on the Stafford system in recent weeks.

Alfred Street Baptist Church Adds Frequency

The Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria recently modified its license to add a repeater on 463.6250.

AARP Adds Frequency

Yesterday, talkgroup 5424 was monitored encrypted on the Fairfax County P25 trunked system.

600 Massachusetts Avenue, an office building in DC, has an application pending before the FCC. The app calls for a DMR repeater on 461.3875, and DMR simplex on 463.9250, 468.9250, 469.1875, 469.2375, and 469.3125.

Rappahannock County Missing Person Search

Authorities are searching for a missing person in Rappahannock County. Yesterday, talkgroup 29392 from the Fauquier/Culpeper/Rappahannock trunked system was active with search activities. Talkgroup 29712 was briefly active as well; it's unknown if this was used for the search.

Charles County Event Yesterday

Yesterday, there was an event in Charles County, and talkgroup 17152 from the county trunked system was active. An ATV was mentioned, but the nature of the event was unable to be determined.

Digital Realty, which runs data centers in Ashburn, has three applications pending before the FCC. The apps call for DMR repeaters on 461.8750, 461.1500, and 464.8750.

Marymount University FCC App

Marymount University has an application pending before the FCC for a DMR repeater on 451.8375. The university previously used 464.5750 [ d703], but this has not been heard for some time. The shuttle continues to operate unlicensed on 451.8625 [ d606].

Waterfront Station FCC App

Waterfront Station, a mixed-use development in Southwest DC, has an application pending before the FCC for DMR repeaters on 464.0250 and 463.8500, and DMR simplex on 466.4125, 468.8750, 469.2375, and 469.3375.

The property was found using unlicensed simplex on 451.5000 [ CSQ] in recent years.

DC UCC 3 Talkgroup Active Saturday

The DC Unified Communications Center 3 talkgroup (2341) was active on Saturday. Various locations around the city were discussed. A "post" at "GW" (probably the hospital) was mentioned, and someone was told to respond to an address in Southwest for a fall.

Children's National Medical Center Applies for DMR

Children's National Medical Center has pending applications on two licenses for DMR emission designators. One license is for the hospital's repeaters on 464.8000 and 464.9750, and the other license is for the repeater on 463.7750.

The hospital's security frequency (464.1500) has used DMR for several years. It is covered under another license.

AirCare 1 Radio ID

AirCare 1, a medical helicopter based at Fairfax Hospital, was monitored on Prince William Fire talkgroup 5C today. The helo had a radio ID of 3187305.

Lerner Adds Frequency to License

Lerner, which manages several office buildings in Tysons, recently added an analog/DMR repeater on 452.9750 at 1775 Tysons Blvd. to its license.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Modifies License

The Mandarin Oriental Hotel recently modified its license to add an analog/DMR repeater on 452.7250, and analog/DMR simplex on 466.5125, 467.2000, and 469.0250.
