While monitoring near 4th and I St. SW on Saturday evening about seven o'clock, two unknown frequencies were noted:

The frequencies may have been used for an event at Arena Stage or The Wharf.

Monumental Concrete Repeater on 452.7250

The Monumental Concrete DC DMR repeater on 452.7250 is using the same parameters (Color Code 1, Slot 1, Group 14) as the company's Arlington DMR repeater on 463.3375. The repeaters are probably linked using MOTOTRBO IP Site Connect or similar.

American Switches to Encrypted Cap+ at DCA

American Airlines has switched to a two-site Capacity Plus system at Reagan National Airport. All groups appear to use Enhanced Privacy. Many of American's other systems around the country are also using encryption.

• The Museum of the Bible opens Friday. The museum is licensed for four UHF DMR repeaters, and may have been monitored on one using Enhanced Privacy.

Three Skyline Place, an office building located at 5201 Leesburg Pike in Falls Church, has an application pending before the FCC for DMR repeaters on 462.1500 and 464.1375, and DMR simplex on 451.3125, 451.4125, 462.2875, 462.3375, and 452.1625.

Avalon Bay Communities FCC App

Avalon Bay Communities, which manages apartment buildings in Fairfax County, has an application pending before the FCC for DMR simplex on 467.3375, 467.4125, 457.8625, 457.6875, and 457.8125.

Charles Schools Modifies License

Charles County Schools recently modified its license. An analog/DMR repeater on 152.3375 will be used at Mt. Hope/Nanjemoy Elementary School, and an analog/DMR repeater on 153.4025 will be used at Milton M. Summers Middle School.

Pod DC Hotel Adds Repeater

The Pod DC Hotel, located at 627 H St. NW, recently added an analog/DMR repeater on 464.3000 to its license.

Richmond Updates

Although two hours away from DC, it should be noted that there have been several updates to the Richmond page. Several businesses and the convention center have switched to DMR.

DC Courts FCC App

The DC Courts, located at 500 Indiana Ave. NW, has an application pending before the FCC for an analog/DMR repeater on 460.3500.

University of Maryland Trunked System Update

The University of Maryland, College Park continues to use an 800 MHz analog trunked system. The groups that were previously noted as used for Byrd Stadium are actually used by the Athletics department for events at multiple venues around campus, including Xfinity Center.

MGM National Harbor Eliminates Some Groups

MGM National Harbor has apparently eliminated some groups from its MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus system. The three groups used by slot attendants have not been active for at least several weeks. The casino is licensed for several DMR simplex frequencies, but it seems unlikely the slot attendants would use simplex. They may use a special internal communications system.

FedExField Update
