New DSD+ "Fast Lane" Released

DSD+ "Fast Lane" 2.71 was released on Christmas, the first Fast Lane release since February. (Fast Lane releases are like betas; the current "public release" of DSD+ is 1.101 and was released two years ago.)

This release adds numerous features and fixes, but support for Project 25 Phase II decoding is still missing. The "Notes" text file that accompanies the software explains all the enhancements and changes.

UPS (Laurel) License Modification

UPS in Laurel has modified its license to add DMR emissions designators to its frequencies.

Skyline Plaza Condo FCC App

Skyline Plaza Condo, located at 3703 S. George Mason Dr. in Falls Church, has an application pending before the FCC for a DMR repeater on 451.7000.

Skyline - New Frequency

A new frequency that was recently licensed is being used for at least part of the Skyline development in Fairfax County:

It may replace a couple of other frequencies that were used in the past for Skyline:

The Alexandrian Using DMR Simplex

The Alexandrian Hotel, located in Old Town, is now using UHF DMR simplex. The hotel had previously been using VHF analog simplex.

452.0375 [         ] (DMR - Color Code 5, Group 101) (S)

The hotel is licensed for several other UHF frequencies, and the VHF frequencies remain on the license.

Golden Triangle BID Switches Frequencies

The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District recently switched frequencies. They are now using DMR on 463.4750 (with a different group), and also using RAS:

The previously-used frequency (461.4375) was active using color code 4 with data transmissions. No voice was monitored.

Both frequencies are on the Golden Triangle BID's license.

Embassy of Japan License Modification

The Embassy of Japan, located at 2520 Massachusetts Ave. NW in DC, has a modification to its license pending to add DMR emissions designators to its repeater on 463.9750.

MedStar Health FCC App

MedStar Health, located at 1133 21st St. NW in DC, has an application pending before the FCC for a DMR repeater on 463.2875, and DMR simplex on 464.2375, 464.4375, 469.2375, 469.8125, and 469.9500.

Teamsters Adds DMR Emissions Designators

The Teamsters, located at 25 Louisiana Ave. NW in DC, recently added DMR emissions designators to their licensed repeater on 464.3750.

UPS has an application pending before the FCC for analog/DMR simplex on 456.9500, 463.8750, 464.0750, 468.8750, and 469.0750 for its location in Spotsylvania County.

The Crossings at Spring Hill FCC App

The Crossings at Spring Hill, an assisted living facility in Lorton, has an application pending before the FCC for a repeater on 461.6125.

Iron Mountain FCC App

Iron Mountain, which manages a data center in Manassas, has an application pending before the FCC for a DMR repeater on 463.9125, and DMR simplex on 451.4375, 452.0375, 452.2875, 456.4375, and 457.2875.

WMATA FCC App

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has an application pending before the FCC for temporary Project 25 repeaters on 460.3250, 460.4000, and 460.5000. These frequencies were previously used by Metropolitan Police (MPD). The repeaters are located near the Takoma Metro station.

Gables Takoma Park FCC App

Gables Takoma Park, apartments in DC, has an application pending before the FCC for DMR simplex on 451.3625, 451.5125, 456.3625, 456.4375, and 456.5125.
