Smithsonian Folklife Festival Frequencies Found

I had a chance to monitor the Folklife Festival on Wednesday. Organizers were using Icom radios, which I initially believed were for the Smithsonian's LTR Passport trunked system. It turns out, however, that they are using NXDN frequencies (410.9625 and 412.9000) for the event. 410.9625 is a repeater with a 419.9625 input. Note that this frequency is used on sites 103, 106, and 107 of the Passport system. There is no scanner that can monitor NXDN.

Weekend Events

  • The Nationals play Friday at 7:05, Saturday at 4:05, and Sunday at 1:35 at Nationals Park.
  • The Smithsonian Folklife Festival continues through Sunday on the National Mall. Organizers are using NXDN frequencies (410.9625 and 412.9000), which cannot be monitored with any scanner.
