Signature Flight Support at Reagan National Airport was recently licensed for a repeater on 461.7875.

Diamond Cab FCC License

Diamond Cab was recently licensed for a repeater on 463.9125.

Westin Georgetown FCC License

The Westin Georgetown was recently licensed for a base/mobile configuration on 451.2125. The hotel has previously used a repeater on 464.8000 [ d026].

BWI Airport Update

Spent some time near BWI Airport on Tuesday, and was able to update many airline ground frequencies. Notably, Southwest has not switched their frequencies to MOTOTRBO yet; the airline continues to use them in analog mode. (Southwest has the TRBO emission designators on its license. The airline also has another license for a TRBO trunked system.) United has switched to TRBO on 460.8250.

Arundel Mills Mall Switched to MOTOTRBO

Arundel Mills Mall has switched their UHF business frequencies from analog to MOTOTRBO. Here is what was monitored:

451.3625 [         ] Security (MOTOTRBO - Color Code 2, Slot 1, Group 100)
451.7375 [         ] Unknown (MOTOTRBO - Color Code 3, Group 300)
451.7375 [         ] Housekeeping (MOTOTRBO - Color Code 3, Slot 2, Group 400)

The mall has three other frequencies on the license; nothing was heard on those.

Nordstrom Rack, which will open in the spring at 1800 L St. NW in DC, has an application pending before the FCC. The app calls for simplex on 463.8375, 467.8500, 467.8750, 467.9000, and 464.6125.

Falls Church City FCC License

The City of Falls Church was recently licensed for a MOTOTRBO repeater on 453.5000. The frequency is licensed to the Police Department, even though the city uses the Arlington County trunked system for dispatch and operations. This may be used as a "talkaround" channel.

This frequency (along with 453.9250) was previously licensed years ago, before the City started using Arlington's trunked system.

TK Services, a provider of building maintenance for the United States District Court for the District of Columbia at 333 Constitution Ave. NW, has an application pending before the FCC. The app calls for a repeater on 464.6500, and simplex on 467.2000 and 468.2000.

Crate & Barrel FCC License

Crate & Barrel, a housewares retailer located in Tysons Corner, was recently licensed for a repeater on 452.0500 and simplex on 456.2375, 456.3125, 456.5125, 457.0875, and 457.7875.

Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City New Channels

The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City switched to MOTOTRBO late last year. Since then, several channels have been identified:

461.3500 [         ] Housekeeping (Color Code 6, Slot 2, Group 508)
464.4750 [         ] Security (Color Code 7, Slot 1, Group 505)

The hotel has an additional frequency (463.2750) on its license, but no activity has been monitored on it yet.

Georgetown University Police Switch to MOTOTRBO

Georgetown University Police have abandoned 463.7250 [ d734], and have switched to MOTOTRBO on 452.6250. Several groups were monitored on the frequency, but police dispatch uses Color Code 1, Slot 1, Group 1. Georgetown's license indicates several other MOTOTRBO frequencies, but these are not yet in use.

DC Correctional Treatment Facility Using MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus

The DC Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF), an annex of the DC Jail run by the Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), is using a MOTOTRBO Capacity Plus system. The system is using the frequencies that the CTF previously used in analog mode. The CCA license indicates MOTOTRBO, but it does not indicate a trunked system.

Arlington Trunked System Encrypted Talkgroups

While monitoring Arlington's trunked system today, two encrypted talkgroups popped up a few times: 61 and 70. These fall near the Sheriff talkgroups, but of course there's no way of knowing what these talkgroups are used for.

Both talkgroups were used during the Marine Corps Marathon last October.

Savvis Communications, a data center company in Sterling, has an application pending before the FCC. The app calls for a repeater on 452.4375. The frequency is coded for analog and MOTOTRBO.

Montgomery County Schools FCC App

Montgomery County Schools has an application pending before the FCC. The app covers several schools in the county; each school will have a UHF repeater.

Marriott Residence Inn Old Town FCC App

The Marriott Residence Inn Old Town, located at 1456 Duke St. in Alexandria, has an application pending before the FCC. The app calls for MOTOTRBO simplex on 451.2375, 451.3625, 451.4875, and 451.7625.

This application will replace the hotel's current license, which is due to expire next month. The hotel has already been confirmed using 451.4875 (Color Code 1, Group 1) for housekeeping.

Westfield Montgomery Mall FCC App

Westfield Montgomery Mall, located in Bethesda, has an application pending before the FCC. The app calls for repeaters on 453.0125 and 461.9500, and simplex on 452.0375, 457.0375, 452.1125, and 457.1125.

The mall has previously used 463.7625 [203.5] for security and 464.6750 [203.5] for customer service/housekeeping. These frequencies haven't been licensed for some time, so the requested frequencies will probably replace these.

Washington DC Jewish Community Center FCC App

The Washington DC Jewish Community Center, located at 1529 16th St. NW, has an application pending before the FCC. The app calls for simplex on 466.9500, 468.7000, 468.9500, 469.3125, and 469.6500.

These frequencies have been used in the past for the Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run, which this year is on April 7.

The World Bank's application for a repeater on 462.5000 is still pending.
